Best of you

6. "The best of mankind is my generation, then those that follow them and then those that follow them. Then there shall come a people after them who will become avaricious, who will love gluttony, and who will give witness before they are asked for it." [Tirmidhî, Sahîh]

Quotes to remember

4. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ (peace be upon him) said:“He who gave up disputing while he is right, a palace of high rank in Paradise will be built for him. He who gave up disputing while he is a fabricator, a palace in the center of Paradise will be built for him.” (al-Tirmidhi who declared it as hasan)

Salafs sayings

It is reported that Imām Al-Zuhrī – Allāh have mercy on him – said:

Those of our scholars who went before us used to say,”Adherence to the Sunnah is salvation, but knowledge is taken away quickly, so the revival of knowledge means the stability of religion and worldly affairs, and the loss of knowledge means the loss of all that.”

Dont Accept the Extra Money

Question:

I work for a maintenance company and I receive a specific monthly salary for that work. Sometimes, though, I go to peoples houses to fix something, and the owners insist on giving me a tip for my service. I refuse them despite their continued entreaties. What should I do?
Answer:

Prudence dictates that you should not accept it from them because the Messenger of Allaah sent a man named Abdullah bin Al-Lutaybah to collect charity. When he returned with the charity, he said, This is for you, and this was a gift for me. The Prophet delivered a sermon and rebuked this act by saying, Should he have sat in the home of his father or the home of his mother to see if he would get a gift or not. [1] This expression suggests a warning against taking gifts for workers, for if you remained in your home then these people would not have given you any gift. What is safer and more careful, then, is not to accept anything other than your salary. And Allaah Almighty knows best.
