He had Sexual Relations With his Wife During the Day in Ramadan

Question:

A person asks: he had sexual relations with his wife during the day in (the month of) Ramadan without knowledge meaning due to him having ignorance; so what is the ruling upon this?
Answer:

If he had Sexual intercourse with his wife during the day within the month of Ramadan thinking that there is no problem with sexual intercourse (during Ramadan), then there is no objection, no sin, no atonement and no settlement (upon him). Due to the principle that whosoever performs a forbidden action in worship due to forgetfulness or ignorance then there is nothing upon him; due to the saying of Allaah, the Most High:
ÑóÈøóäóÇ áÇó ÊõÄóÇÎöÐúäóÇ Åöä äøóÓöíäóÇ Ãóæú ÃóÎúØóÃúäóÇ

"Our Lord! Punish us not if we forget or fall into error. [al-Baqarah 2:286]

Allaah the Most High said: ÞÏ ÝÚáÊõ 'Indeed I have done so.' [1]

And His Saying, the Most High:

æóáóíúÓó Úóáóíúßõãú ÌõäóÇÍñ ÝöíãóÇ ÃóÎúØóÃúÊõã Èöåö æóáóßöä ãøóÇ ÊóÚóãøóÏóÊú ÞõáõæÈõßõãú

And there is no sin on you if you make a mistake therein, except in regard to what your hearts deliberately intend. [al-Ahzaab 33:5]
