Best of you

12. "The best of your garments are those which are white; shroud your dead in them and clothe your living with them. The best of that which you apply to your eyelids is antimony causing the eyelashes to grow and sharpening the eyesight." [Ibn Hibbân, Sahîh]

Quotes to remember

11. It was narrated that Abu Hanifa said to Dawud al-Taa’i, “Why do you prefer seclusion?” Dawud replied, “To struggle against myself to leave disputing.” Abu Hanifah said, “Attend meetings, listen to what is said, and remain silent.” Dawud said, “I have done so, but I have found nothing heavier than this.”

Salafs sayings

Abu ad-Dardaa narrated [Saheeh Muslim, No.6588]: The Messenger of Allaah said: «No believing servant supplicates for his brother behind his back (in his absence), except that the Angels say: "The same be for you too".»
al-Imaam an-Nawawee comments [Riyaadh as-Saaliheen #1494]: This hadeeth makes it evident that one who prays for someone in his absence also stands to benefit from it because the angel appointed for the task of praying for those who pray for others will pray for him, saying, "O Allaah! Grant him also the same which he has asked for others".

Janazah for the one who commits suicide

Fatawa Answered by Shaykh Uthaymeen

Question: Is it permissible to pray over the one who commits suicide, and is it permissible to shroud him? Also, is it permissible to bury him in the graveyard of the Muslims? And is he considered an apostate from Islam?

Shaykh Uthaymeen: The one who commits suicide, the person who kills himself—and with Allah refuge is sought—it is the same whether he commits suicide with a machine or tool, or by fire, or by jumping from something high or by any other means, the point is that he kills himself. And it has been authenticated that the Prophet said:
Whoever kills himself with something; then verily he will be tortured with it in the fire of Hell, remaining therein forever.
We ask Allah for safety and security. But despite this, he is prayed upon because he is a Muslim. But if the Imaam—and he is the leader over the general populace—or the Imaam of the Masjid, the one who has repute in the community, if he himself decides he will not pray over him, to make an example to others; then there is nothing wrong with him not praying over this person, and he tells the others to pray over him. And he is buried with the Muslims because he is a Muslim.
