Best of you

40. "The most beloved of people according to Allah is he who brings most benefit, and the most beloved of deeds according to Allah the Mighty, the Magnificent, is that you bring happiness to a fellow Muslim, or relieve him of distress, or pay off his debt or stave away hunger from him. It is more beloved to me that I walk with my brother Muslim in his time of need than I stay secluded in the mosque for a month. Whoever holds back his anger, Allah will cover his faults and whoever suppresses his fury while being able to execute it, Allah will fill his heart with satisfaction on the Day of Standing. Whoever walks with his brother Muslim in need until he establishes that for him, Allah will establish his feet firmly on the day when all feet shall slip. Indeed, bad character ruins deeds just as vinegar ruins honey." [Tabarâni, Hasan]

Quotes to remember

11. It was narrated that Abu Hanifa said to Dawud al-Taa’i, “Why do you prefer seclusion?” Dawud replied, “To struggle against myself to leave disputing.” Abu Hanifah said, “Attend meetings, listen to what is said, and remain silent.” Dawud said, “I have done so, but I have found nothing heavier than this.”

Salafs sayings

It is reported that Imām Al-Zuhrī – Allāh have mercy on him – said:

Those of our scholars who went before us used to say,”Adherence to the Sunnah is salvation, but knowledge is taken away quickly, so the revival of knowledge means the stability of religion and worldly affairs, and the loss of knowledge means the loss of all that.”

Prayer in Transparent Clothes

Question:

Many people pray in light clothes which are see-through, and underneath these clothes they wear shorts which do not go beyond the middle of the thigh, such that half of the thigh is visible through the thobe. So what is the ruling regarding the prayer of these individuals?
Answer:

The ruling regarding their prayer is the same regarding the one who prays in shorts without the thobe, because transparent clothes that describe the body are not sufficient and wearing them is equivalent to not wearing them. Based upon this, their prayer is not valid according to the most correct opinion of the scholars, and it is the well known opinion from the madhab of Imaam Ahmad. This is because it is obligatory for men to cover what is between the navel and the knees during the prayer. And this is the lowest form by which compliance to the saying of Allaah, the Mighty and Majestic, occurs, "O Children of Aadam take your adornment while praying." [al-A'raaf: 31]
So one of two matters is obligatory upon them: either they should wear shorts which cover that which is between the navel and the knees, or they should wear a non-transparent thobe which does not reveal the body. And this action which the questioner has mentioned is a mistake and very dangerous, so it is upon them to repent to Allaah, the Most High, and to be enthusiastic in striving to completely cover themselves in the prayer. We ask Allaah, the Most High, for guidance for us and our Muslim brothers and success to that which He Loves and is Pleased with. Indeed He is the Most Noble, the Most Generous.
