Praying Over the People of Bid'ah

Question:

What is the ruling upon abandoning the (funeral) prayer upon the people of innovation?

Answer:

If the people of knowledge abandon it by way of estrangement because of their actions, then it is pertinent if their bid'ah did not necessitate takfeer of them; however if their bid'ah was the innovation (that necessitates) unbelief like the innovation of the Khawaarij or the Mu'tazilah or the Jahmiyyah then one should not pray over them.
